Hottest Martini in Town!

by on Jun.10, 2014, under What's New

Hottest Martini in Town

Steve is constantly striving to perfect his already-expert ability to capture unusual lighting scenarios in the studio. Recently he captured this amazing photo of a flaming martini reflected on a glossy surface, which he appropriately named “The Hottest Martini in Town”. Then he proceeded to win the “Best of Show” award with this image at a competition hosted by PPSV (Professional Photographers of Sacramento Valley), and a merit award at PPC’s (Professional Photographers of California’s) annual competition. The image will be entered into an international competition later this month. Congratulations, Steve!!

Steve’s creativity with light makes him an excellent choice for commercial and product photography, as he can mold light to meet challenging requirements in Inner Vision Images’ custom studio. His expertise also makes him a great choice for portrait photo shoots, as he can consistently achieve top-notch results in situations where other photographers struggle.

So contact Inner Vision Images Photography today at 916.359.7543 to book your creative custom photography session, whatever your needs and desires may be!!

Louisiana Yum

by on Nov.10, 2013, under What's New

Oh how we LOVE Louisiana cuisine!! Recently we discovered the best place for Sunday brunch in the swamp country outside of New Orleans. Speckled T’s Restaurant in Slidell, Louisiana, has an amazing brunch assortment of local, creative dishes like Blackened Red Fish, Seafood Lasagna, Eggplant Roleantini, Jambalaya Eggrolls, Smothered Chicken, Grits & Grillades, Gumbo YaYa… the list goes on! They also have a number of more ‘typical’ brunch choices and a lovely carving station. Dessert includes Bread Pudding although I made a dessert out of the most decadent Bananas Foster French Toast. Their regular menu is great too and it includes a number of other Southern specialties; and their prices are very reasonable…  Louisiana Yum!!!

Please excuse the cell phone photos but wanted to share this gem of a restaurant!

What does this have to do with photography? Nothing!! Well, that’s not entirely true. We were on a photography day trip exploring swamps and bayous and, well, photographers have to eat, don’t they?!  :-)

We’ll share some swamp photos soon. Meanwhile, we’re back home and our photography studio is in full swing with holiday-time portraits. Contact Inner Vision Images today to book your session before it’s too late for year-end gifts and greetings!! 916.359.7543 or www.innervisionimages.com

Chicago

by on Aug.13, 2013, under What's New

After arriving in Chicago by train, we spent a couple of days there on a quest for tall buildings and great pizza. We found plenty of both. Just across the river from our hotel rose the stunning Trump Tower and from the double-decker HOHO bus we saw many other architectural sites of Chicago. We also spent part of a day chasing the “L”, Chicago’s legendary elevated train, around the city. Pizza was abundant and we enjoyed two of Chicago’s best: Lou Malnati’s and Giordano’s. Yum!!

We also witnessed a doozy of a Midwest storm there. The lightning and thunder were nonstop for hours and the rain was torrential. Very impressive!!

We returned to Chicago after a road trip around Lake Michigan and across the UP (“upper peninsula” in Michigan-speak), to catch a flight back home. (More about that road trip later.) The highlight of our visit to the Windy City was an architectural river boat cruise. The weather was completely opposite what it was like earlier in our trip; we were treated to a gorgeous day! The morning light on the city from the boat on the harbour was lovely and we took that image with us back to California as a lasting souvenir of our visit to Chicago.

All Aboard!!

by on Jul.08, 2013, under What's New

Little more than half a century ago, train travel was THE way to go. Although air travel was “taking off,” the average family still relied mainly on trains for long distance trips.

Well, as much as we rely on air travel nowadays, we still love trains. There’s something magical about a train ride and any time we find (or make up) an opportunity to take one, we’re on! So recently we decided to start our vacation by taking Amtrak’s California Zephyr from Sacramento to Chicago. What a great experience this two-plus day trip was! We reserved a bedroom in one of the Superliner Sleeping Cars which allowed us to sleep like babes and included three meals a day in the luxurious dining car, where we met many other train-and-travel lovers like ourselves. Although our bedroom had nice windows, much of our time was spent in the observation car, where the expansive windows provided the best views. The relaxing trip included amazing views of the Sierra Nevada’s, rugged/rocky Utah, beautiful canyons along the Colorado River, and the “Rocky Mountain high.” The weather varied from blue skies and sunshine to heavy storms, and we had a couple of fabulous sunsets. Arriving at Chicago’s historical Union Station was the grand finale.

Here are a few photos from our journey…

For the Birds…

by on Apr.28, 2013, under What's New

When Steve and I returned from our last Christmastime vacation, I couldn’t stop telling everyone about the highlight of our trip, our visit to Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge in New Mexico. Every year, thousands of  wildlife and bird-watching enthusiasts congregate at Bosque to witness the annual migration of Sand Hill Cranes. With the vast numbers of cranes and geese, the “fly-ins” and “fly-outs” each morning and evening are absolutely phenomenal. For that short period of time the sky is filled with the resonant calls of hundreds of thousands of birds. It’s something that can only be experienced fully “live” but we’d like to share a glimpse of this amazing spectacle with you…

First Year

by on Feb.03, 2013, under What's New

There is nothing that can compare to the joy (and challenges!) you experience during your baby’s first year!  It is a time that drags on too slowly during sleepless nights and flies by too fast during the precious “firsts” – the smiles, giggles, hugs, and cute games. Before you know it, your baby is walking and talking and that age of innocence is past.

Capture this extra-special time with a “Bella Baby” portrait package from Inner Vision Images. Combine any four of the following “milestone” portrait sessions to create a package that is uniquely yours:

  • Maternity
  • Newborn
  • 3 month
  • 6 month
  • 9 month
  • 12 months

Create a beautiful album or wall composite to memorialize this amazing stage of your family! It will become one of your most prized treasures and a valuable family heirloom.

Call Inner Vision Images today to plan your Bella Baby portrait package! 916.359.7543, on the web at www.innervisionimages.com.
